Dear Readers,
I "got sorted" yesterday here in London. That's the British term for "being taken care of." Here I was traveling around, visiting friends and family, and worrying about how my hip would hold up, when instead one of my molars started hurting. I ended up having an emergency root canal at this ever so helpful dental practice (pic below), whose proprietor is my husband's cousin's cousin. The root canal specialist, who also
happened to be holding office hours at that very practice yesterday, told me I saved my trip with the two hours I spent lying flat on my back in her chair. A position, by the way, that my hip found quite agreeable. So you see, it all got "sorted." And so far, a full day later, my check is slightly sore but the tooth has calmed down.
Getting sorted, in my mind, sounds more like getting organized, and that goes well with sending you my end-of-the-year gift, which for many of you has become a tradition, the
I've been scrambling to release it on time for the new year as just before we embarked on our trip, Microsoft Office went bust on my laptop. Don't ask me how, I might have uninstalled it in one of my befuddled states of mind--the painkillers are still making me confused now and then. Thankfully, my older son just came home from college and helped troubleshoot, and my husband's laptop did double
duty.
So, as the in-between-the-years time is around the corner, I hope you will have some time amidst all the festivities, obligations and end-of-year business to find quiet moments to review the year and plan for the future. If not, there's always the quiet time after New Year's.

As we begin the new year, I have an event and two workshops coming up in Jerusalem, where we'll be spending some time visiting our younger son. If you happen to be around, it would be lovely to meet you there:
With this I wish you a happy holiday season and all the very best (especially good health!) for 2019,
